Hyde Aero Products Group has celebrated the outstanding success of six members of its team who have graduated from the Sharing in Growth Lighthouse Team Leader Academy.
The Hyde high flyers were presented with accreditation certificates which confirm they not only completed the whole programme but also demonstrated practical evidence of their new behaviours and skills to satisfy both their sponsoring employer and a Sharing in Growth (SiG) expert committee.
As a result of their ongoing development, and undoubtedly the success of the programme over the last year, all have seen recognised promotions:
Ben McLaverty is now part of the Senior Leadership team at Hyde Details (Fabrications and Welding)
Jack Southwick has been appointed general manager of operations
Lee Usher has been promoted to quality manager of Hyde Victoria Production
Gemma Seager has taken a centralised health and safety role for Hyde Aero Products
John Mottershead has key responsibility for the Airbus cell in Hyde Victoria Production
Simon Derbyshire has been given full responsibility for operations as director at SG Instruments
Said Matt Smallman, joint managing director of Hyde Aero Products division: “The Sharing in Growth Team Leader Academy has given Hyde a fantastic contribution to the furthering development of our people. We continue to invest to enhance the team and increase the business’s potential and therefore I’m really pleased that not only have the team participated in the academy but they’ve then gained promotions within the company. We feel strongly about promoting our people and this is a shining example of this ethos.”
SiG business transformation manager Darren Cheetham commented: “The Hyde team can be really proud of their achievements which reflects the strength of the Sharing in Growth Team Leader Academy. They’re putting into practice best practice tools and techniques and achieving excellent results.”
The SiG academy was launched in 2018 to develop highly talented leadership for this generation and the next, by helping attendees understand what is expected of the team leader role and how to perform it successfully. To date around 100 delegates have
learned how to operate within relevant employment law and regulatory frameworks
explored wider influencing factors that enable teams to operate at their best
gained an appreciation of how operational performance impacts financial results
developed the communications skills to lead, coach and motivate others
developed confidence in leading teams through continuous improvement and problem- solving activities.
The six-month syllabus includes ten modules with eleven training days backed by one-to-one on-site coaching from Sharing in Growth’s experts to ensure the learning is tailored to the individual and quickly embedded through implementation on the job.
