Lead Quality Engineer/Quality Manager

This exciting leadership role will involve you taking accountability for the Quality control function, including managing the day-to-day quality activities at the site.  In this role you will be part of the Victoria Production leadership team and as a result, have a real input into the direction of the business. In particular you will have the chance to shape the Quality function to meet current & future needs.

Main Responsibilities

  • Acting as the site focal point for Quality, both internally and externally (customers).

  • Ensuring that all Non Conformance activities are completed, including root-cause analysis.

  • Leadership of the Inspection team and accountability for the output.

  • Ownership of First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) process, including on-time completion.

  • Development of procedures and ensuring effective deployment into site, e.g. Calibration.

  • Ensuring that key Quality documentation is relevant and topical.

  • Developing and maintaining a Quality Assurance plan to ensure the site’s targets are met.

  • Liaison and linking with with the Divisional Quality team (direction, guidance & support).

  • Supporting Continuous improvement by taking the lead for Quality improvement initiatives.

Essential Skills

  • A proven track record as a Quality Engineer.

  • Problem Solving and other Quality tools.

  • Be a time served apprentice or have a recognised engineering qualification.

  • Understanding AS9100 and FAIRS process.

  • Knowledge of root cause analysis techniques.

  • Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D drawings.

Desirable skills

  • Machining/CMM background.

  • Ability to undertake CMM programming using PCDMIS.
